Abstract
Objective : This study investigates the awareness and importance of the healthcare program operated by the Gyeongnam Regional Health & Medical Center for Persons with Disabilities(GDC), and explores options for effectively supporting Community Based Rehabilitation(CBR) in public health centers.

Methods : With a questionnaire, we surveyed 20 participants who managed the CBR in Gyeongnam¡¯s public health centers. All analyses were performed using SPSS 21.0.

Results : The awareness of the healthcare program in GDC was high in theses areas: linkage and support of CBR, linkage and support medical services. The importance were perceived as high in these areas: development of community based healthcare-welfare delivery system, linkage and support medical services. Although the awareness and importance of GDC was positive, there was not enough linkage status due to the absence of human?material resources, the lack of linkage system among institutions. For the GDC to support the CBR more effectively, formal linkage systems for cooperation such as work manuals and organizational networks are needed.

Conclusion : This study provides evidence for the first time to support defining roles clearly and increasing the linkage status among institutions of healthcare program in GDC.
